We just returned from a fantastic vacation in Nashville, Tennessee! Since we were only in town for four days for a concert, we wanted to make sure we experienced as much as possible. The combo Nashville Golf Cart Tour which includes sightseeing, murals, and a distillery was perfect! In this article, we share pictures and review our awesome three-hour Nashville Golf Cart Tour in Music City during our stay in August.
We booked our Nashville Combo Tour: Sightseeing, Murals, and Distillery/Brewery, shown below, on a Sunday at 9:00 a.m. to make the most of our few days in Nashville!
Initially, we were just going to book the Sightseeing Tour by Golf Cart but we were concerned it would not explore everything we were interested in. In the end, for us, without a doubt, we made the right decision to book the combo Nashville Golf Cart Tour!
This combo excursion really did give us the chance to experience a little bit of everything we wanted to explore in Nashville! Essentially, the tour is approximately three-hours long, in an open-air, low-speed vehicle, comprised of the following Nashville Golf Cart tours (also offered separately):

Meeting Point
The meeting point of the tour is located at 833 9th Ave S. There is a bar inside as well if you wanted to have a drink while waiting or at the conclusion.
When we met our tour guide, Cliff, we discussed what we hoped to see on the tour. Cliff was friendly and made our three-hour tour enjoyable! He also had a headset and microphone so that we were always able to hear him in the golf cart.
Although we had a private tour, the small-group golf-cart tours indicates the size is capped at a maximum of seven participants. There was another golf cart tour that left at the same time as us, made up of two couples.
Nashville Murals
The tour started with murals and street art located around the city. I had mentioned I wanted to see the famous Prince mural but was not sure if it still existed. Sure enough, our guide made this our first mural! We stopped and parked the golf cart so that we could take some pictures.
Since we started with an early morning tour, fortunately we did not experience (long) lines at any of the murals.
Our tour guide confirmed there are often long lines to take pictures with the famous murals later in the day. One of the most famous Nashville murals are wings over 20 feet tall, named “What Lifts You” in the Gulch, by artist Kelsey Montague. There was a family with kids and a couple ahead of us, even on an early Sunday morning, for that one.
To our own surprise, we really enjoyed seeing the Nashville murals in person that we had read about during our vacation research.
We initially didn’t think it would be necessary to check out the murals particularly popular for social media. However, now we know why the city is also famous for murals. A lot of the artwork is fun, fascinating, and should not be missed!
Since the murals are in various parts of the city, it would have been difficult to find them on our own as tourists, especially in one day.
Happily, we found it really cool to see the artwork during our golf cart tour while exploring the city!
Nashville Sightseeing
After the murals, our Nashville Golf Cart Tour focused on sightseeing. Our tour guide shared a lot of interesting information as we drove throughout the morning, stopping at various spots. It was great to hear some history especially since this was our first visit to Nashville.
We drove through “Music Row” where many music recording studios are located, such as RCA and Columbia Records. Although we did not go inside, it was interesting to listen to Cliff share some background on the different studios.
We stopped to take pictures and hear who recorded at these studios including artists like Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, and many more.
Tennessee Legend Distillery
One of our most memorable stops during our Nashville Golf Cart Tour was at Tennessee Legend Distillery in Marathon Village.
Here, we got to try five free samples of their alcohol! My husband and I both tried the same samples:
- Kingsnake Straight Bourbon Whiskey
- Firey Mango Margarita Moonshine (our server’s recommendation)
- Coffee Moonshine
- Salted Caramel Whiskey
- Peanut Butter Cup Whiskey
Honestly, all the samples were delectable and so smooth! We bought a bottle of the Coffee Moonshine since it was unique and delicious!
Marathon Village
After the Tennessee Legend Distillery tasting, we walked though the Marathon Motor Works museum in the same building. The museum showcased historic vehicles and equipment, and had several retail stores, free to explore.
We purchased a souvenir at a gift shop there which had reasonable prices even compared to Broadway. We also stopped by the Jack Daniel’s General Store and Antique Archaeology which is owned by Mike Wolfe of the TV show American Pickers.
Sightseeing Downtown Nashville
We finished the tour with more sightseeing of downtown Nashville in the golf cart.
Our tour included passing by locations such as:
- Printer’s Alley
- Ryman Auditorium
- Broadway
- Bridgestone Arena, and more!

Additional recommendations and considerations for your tour:
Book a Nashville Golf Cart Tour at the beginning of your trip
- we highly recommend taking the tour at the start of your visit to Nashville. The tour will give you an idea of the different parts of Nashville you may want to go back and visit in addition to the many other tips like restaurants!
- book a morning tour – advantages include:
- to avoid lines at some of the popular murals where pictures are taken.
- Summer can be very hot in Nashville, especially in August when we visited. Therefore, it was not too hot for us during the morning tour, notable as you are exposed to the outdoors and weather.
Customization: there were 3-4 particular places we wanted to see. We made sure to discuss them with our tour guide before we started the tour, to confirm if possible.
Nashville Golf Cart Tour: Conclusion
Overall, our combo Nashville Golf Cart Tour was awesome! It was a fun and different way to explore the city! In addition, we got to explore many places that were too far to walk from our hotel in downtown Nashville!
Cliff, our tour guide was fantastic and really made our tour enjoyable. He took pictures of us throughout the tour and made sure that we were happy!
The three-hour combo Nashville Golf Cart Tour was well worth the money for us – I highly recommend this tour if you visit the city of Nashville! It gave us a great mix of everything we wanted, including a whiskey and moonshine free tasting, in a relatively short amount of time with a local guide! Have fun in Nashville!
