Ideally located for our Toyosu itinerary, we spent our last night in Tokyo at the beautiful Mitsui Garden Hotel Toyosu Premier. We share pictures and our experience from our stay at the Mitsui Garden Hotel Toyosu Premier.
The modern hotel is relatively new as it opened October 2022. The reception of the hotel is located on the 36th floor in the Toyosu Bayside Cross building by Tokyo Bay. Therefore, there are spectacular views of the bay and the city skyline from the lobby and our room! On a clear day, Mount Fuji can be seen from the lobby and from hotel rooms!
Mitsui Garden Hotel Toyosu Premier: Location
The hotel is in a commercial area, in a quiet neighbourhood compared to bustling areas in Tokyo such as Shibuya and Shinjuku.
There are various attractions, open spaces such as parks, shopping, and places to eat, all close by.

*TRAVEL TIP: Private Tour with Government-Licensed Guide
We highly recommend a 6-hour Private Tour with Government-Licensed Guide in Tokyo! We booked two of these private tours, one in Tokyo and one in Kyoto (check back for our articles on each Private Tour). Notably, we booked a 6-hour private tour for our second day in Tokyo, which also made us feel more comfortable exploring on our own! Our guide even met us in the lobby of our hotel, Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo. The tours were well worth it, especially for first timers like us and have hundreds of positive reviews!
From Airports
Haneda Airport:
The location of the hotel was also great for our return flight at Haneda Airport, which is about fourteen kilometers away or approximately fifteen-minute drive.
Narita International Airport:
About 67 km or approximately one-hour drive.
*TIP: Haneda Airport Limousine Bus
We took the shared airport limousine bus and recommend it! The airport shuttle offers convenient direct transportation to the airport – check the airport limousine bus schedule, available here! The pick-up and drop-off hotel locations near Toyosu (including Asakusa, Kinshicho) at the time of writing include:
–Tobu Hotel Levant Tokyo (4-star hotel)

Ambiance
The hotel is relatively new and opened in October 2022. There are modern and artistic touches throughout.
According to the hotel website, it is decorated with themes relating to the sea and sky. There are unique art pieces and sculptures throughout the hotel.
Mitsui Garden Hotel Toyosu Premier takes up floors 33 to 36 of the Toyosu Bayside Cross tower.
Elevated glass sculptures are displayed on the first floor of the building as you walk towards the elevators dedicated for the hotel. Take the elevators to the hotel reception which is on the 36th floor.
Upon arrival on the 36th floor, an automatic door opens to an artistic corridor.
The “36th Floor Approach” then welcomes you to the open reception area and lobby with a breath-taking view!
Since the holiday season was approaching during our visit, there was also a beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the lobby!
In general, the ambiance of the hotel is modern, elegant, and sophisticated.
Hotel Amenities
All guests can enjoy the following hotel amenities and facilities, and more:
- 24-hour front desk
- free wi-fi
- air-conditioning
- large public bath: free for hotel guests, located on the 36th floor
- “The Penthouse with weekend terrace”
- Italian restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch, dinner
- lobby bar

- accessibility: accessible, elevators
Given our limited time at the hotel and our itinerary in Toyosu, we did not try the public bath. We wish we had more time to experience the public bath here which has positive reviews!
Also, for security, the key card is required at the first-floor entrance (1 a.m. – 6 a.m.), elevators, and public bath.
Check-In
We checked-in at the reception around 3:00 p.m. The hotel has a 24-hour front desk, which is important to us when we travel.
Overall, we still prefer and continue to book hotels that offer 24-hour front desk service, like Mitsui Garden Hotel Toyosu Premier! Should the need arise, we always prefer to have someone that can address our questions or concerns during our stay. This has been especially important for us in countries where English is not the main language.
After speaking with the front desk, we were then also directed to use one of the check-in machine. The check-in machine issued us our two room card keys.
For your information, in our search for accommodations in Japan, there are hotels that no longer have reception desks with personnel, just check-in machines!
Accommodations
There are different accommodations and rooms available to book, including:
- Garden View room
- Comfort Double
- Superior Room
- Superior with View (Rainbow Bridge side)
- Deluxe Corner with View
- Executive Corner with View – twin, king
We booked a Superior View Bath King. The room felt new, very clean, and modern. We had a king-sized bed, additional seating, a small desk, and bar area.

Mitsui Garden Hotel Toyosu Premier – Tokyo: Conclusion
The Mitsui Garden Hotel Toyosu Premier provided a beautiful and comfortable stay. Incredible views and a new hotel are certainly main features here!
It is important to mention for first-time visitors to Japan like us, we found the location too remote from downtown Tokyo. We loved our four-night stay in Shinjuku – read our hotel review and article here! However, other reviewers noted they did not mind the commute outside of Toyosu, from the hotel, for sightseeing! Again, there is easy access to public transit from the hotel, so it all depends on where you prefer to be located.
Ultimately, for a modern and luxurious stay outside of Central Tokyo, Mitsui Garden Hotel Toyosu Premier is a beautiful option to explore by the Tokyo Bay waterfront! For us, the hotel was great for our one-night stay and Toyosu itinerary!
Enjoy Japan and happy travels!
