Hotel Le Germain Quebec: Location
The hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood in Lower Town in two historic buildings. It was an easy walk to many restaurants and sites that we wanted to visit in Old Quebec.
From the Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB), we took a taxi to the hotel, approximately 25-minute drive. The distance from the two Quebec airports:
- Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB): ~16 km
- Victoriaville Airport: ~95 km
The hotel is walking distance to popular sites and attractions including:
- Place Royale: ~300 m (~5-minute walk)
- Quartier du Petit Champlain: ~600 m (~8-minute walk)
- Terrasse Dufferin: ~450 m (~12-minute walk)
- Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac hotel: ~450 m (~12-minute walk)
Overall, the location in the heart of Old Quebec was great for sightseeing for the few days we were in town.
Upper Town (Haute-Ville) and Lower Town (Basse-Ville) are the two areas that make up Old Quebec, the UNESCO World Heritage site. The towns are connected by stairways and the funicular.
We felt safe in the quiet neighbourhood and preferred to stay in Lower Town for the charming and romantic atmosphere of the older part of town.

On the main floor, the centerpiece of the hotel is the gorgeous fireplace which was beautifully decorated.

Hotel Le Germain Quebec provided a very good continental breakfast. We had breakfast each morning there which was convenient and always fresh.
The breakfast buffet is served daily from 7 a.m. which included fresh bread and pastries, cheese, eggs, yogurt and more.
Be sure to try the freshly baked croissants before they are gone! We read other reviews before our stay that raved about the delicious, buttery croissants, which were well deserved!
