Grenada Snorkel Tour Summary & Description
Summary – what to expect on the excursion:
- Meeting Point: Grand Anse Beach, St. George, Grenada
- Snorkeling at Underwater Sculptures Park
- Buffet Lunch: delicious and fresh!
- Snorkeling at Flamingo Bay
- Return to meeting point
PRO TIP: if you are staying in a hotel away from Grand Anse beach, like Sandals Grenada or Royalton Grenada, pick-up and drop-off transportation can be arranged for an additional cost. Our transfer was convenient – we recommend it!
Since we were staying at Sandals Grenada, we booked the shuttle service. Available for additional cost, the transfer took about twenty minutes.
We were the first ones to be picked up. Marc, the captain of our cruise, picked us up at our resort lobby.
There was only one other hotel stop, Royalton Grenada, on the way to the dock. Overall, the transfer to and from the dock, was very convenient for us to book together with the excursion.
Grenada Snorkel – Meeting Point & Introduction
Once we arrived at Grand Anse Beach, we waited at the dock which was the designated meeting point.
We were shuttled to the tour boat by dinghy and removed our shoes once on board. The boat did not feel crowded at all.
The crew members on the boat consisted of Marc, also our snorkel guide, his wife, who cooked our tasty lunch, and crew member, Junior.
Also, as indicated when booking this particular snorkel tour, there are dogs on the boat! We had two dogs on the cruise, both friendly and well behaved!
The dogs were kept below deck initially as everyone first arrived and settled in for the cruise.
During the tour, both dogs even leaped into the water from the boat! They were very cute and entertaining!

Overall, the boat was well kept and spacious enough for everyone to have a comfortable seat.
Marc was friendly, welcomed everyone and explained what to expect on the cruise and the snorkel sites.
A booklet of the sculptures was also passed around before our snorkel. It included pictures and a brief description of each piece.

At the start of the cruise, we sailed by St. George for picturesque views of the city from the water! It was a great way to see the colourful buildings and city.

Snorkeling at the Underwater Sculptures Park
The first snorkel stop is Molinere Bay for the Underwater Sculptures Park!
“Molinere Bay Underwater Sculpture Park…It was widely acclaimed as the first of its kind. The site is now listed as one of National Geographic’s 25 Wonders of the World.”

The tour included the use of snorkel equipment and floating devices. All the equipment was in good condition.
Also, the decision was left up to you whether or not to use the floatation swim belt that is wrapped around your waist. My husband and I both decided to use the belt at the first snorkel stop!
In the water, Marc guided us from sculpture to sculpture. He also carried a flag so that everyone could easily locate him to follow. We explored many of the works, including popular pieces such as “The Vicissitudes”, “Christ of the Deep”, and “The Lost Correspondent”!
Although it was not a bright, sunny day, fortunately, the water was not too murky for our underwater camera! We were still able to capture some nice pictures and videos during our snorkel!

The underwater sculptures were fantastic to see in person! In fact, this experience was even better than we both expected! We loved exploring the sculpture park! It was definitely a unique experience for us!

Also, it is important to note that the sculptures were visible from the surface of the water! None of the sculptures were too deep as they could be seen simply by snorkeling. There were a couple of people that swam closer to the sculptures by the ocean floor for a closer look!
Our group was at this snorkel stop for about an hour. We had an ample amount of time to explore!
Lunch
A tasty buffet lunch is also included with an open bar. Non-alcoholic beverages like juice, pop, and water were also available.

Different types of salad, meat, fish, bread, fruits, and dessert were available! The food was fresh, delicious, and plentiful for everyone!

Snorkeling at Flamingo Bay
The second snorkel spot is Flamingo Bay! We snorkeled here for about an hour. Some people chose to relax on the boat while a group of us snorkeled!
There were interesting rock formations, fish, and sea life to explore! The water is not too deep and we felt it was enough time here as well! Overall, we enjoyed snorkeling at Flamingo Bay!

Lastly, the sail back to Grand Anse was great! It was relaxing to just sit back and enjoy the beautiful views with music in the background.
Similar to our arrival, once we were close to Grand Anse beach, we took the dinghy back to the dock where we started. And Marc drove us all back to our hotels.
