Food Gifts for Foodies

Read Time:3 Minute, 32 Second

I am a self-professed foodie! As such, I often both receive and give food gifts, since as the saying goes, “sharing is caring”! Nurture Happiness Today FOODIE shares food gifts for foodies that we heartily recommend!

“Laughter is brightest where food is best.”

Irish Proverb

If you can’t deliver the goodies personally, you can always place an order through a food delivery service or the store directly.

Deliver a (Slice of) Cake

What is a celebration without cake! Taking the time to bake a homemade cake surely conveys love. Of course if you don’t have the time to bake yourself, picking up and sending a (slice of) cake can also bring joy!

The picture below is a slice of cake that was sent to me from a friend, delivered during the COVID pandemic. It was a wonderful, thoughtful surprise that I really enjoyed!

Macarons

Colourful and delightful, I have received many macarons as gifts over the years! Aside from tried and true flavours like chocolate, we also enjoy trying non-traditional flavours like matcha and pistachio. Macarons are a great foodie gift and will surely result in a smile!

Food Basket

We love giving food baskets filled with delicious treats! You can create your own food basket for a more personal touch if you have the time. Alternatively, you can purchase a gift basket at a store or online and also have it delivered. Friends and family always comment how beautiful the gift baskets are that we send, and more importantly, how tasty the food is!

Cookies

Cookies make both kids and adults happy! Baking homemade cookies or picking up gourmet cookies can be a delicious way to celebrate an occasion.

My favourite cookies in Toronto, to eat myself and to give, are from The Night Baker! For gifts, there are a couple different boxes (8, 12, 18) and their cookie tin holds eight cookies. Delivery is available and they also offer Canada wide and U.S. shipping . The menu can change, with seasonal flavours in addition to their staple popular flavours. Our favourites are the “Ooh Bae”, “Mistachio” and “Red Velvet”. If you haven’t been, don’t be surprised if there is a line outside when you get there…

Fresh Fruit Bouquet

A bouquet of fresh ripe fruit is also a delightful delicious gift that can be given for various occasions! Did you know that the traditional four-year wedding anniversary gift is flowers or fruit, symbolizing the blossoming relationship. The fresh fruit bouquet pictured below was actually part of our four-year wedding anniversary gift! It was definitely a gift that brought a smile to my face as it was delicious (and oh so clever as part of our four-year anniversary)!

Wine

“Good company, good wine, good welcome, can make good people.”

William Shakespeare, “Henry VIII”

Of course, wine is always a great gift choice for those that drink alcohol! For something a little different, or for friends and family who are not from Canada, we suggest giving ice wine as a gift from the Niagara region. Even better, visiting a winery and taking a wine tour can be a delightful way to spend an afternoon. Cheers!
