Although Turks and Caicos has many luxury resorts and fine-dining restaurant options, sometimes casual dining with friendly service is all that is needed! We share a few casual dining restaurants in Turks and Caicos that we tried on our trips to Grace Bay Beach that provided good food, service, and atmosphere.

If you are going to Turks and Caicos, be sure to also check out our article on the airport fast track pass for the Providenciales International Airport (PLS).

Castaways Conch Bar & Island Grill

We decided to leave the resort to have dinner for a change of scenery. We were looking for casual dining in Turks and Caicos in an outdoor setting for the four of us. Castaways was a great choice! It was located close by on Grace Bay Road and had a nice tropical ambiance!

Although the restaurant does not have ocean views, we enjoyed the island vibes and atmosphere. We sat within the palm trees, close to the “boat bar”.

The restaurant offers many items on their food menu, something for everyone, in addition to wine and cocktails.

We ordered a bottle of wine and everyone enjoyed their dinners. Overall, service was friendly, and the food was tasty and reasonably priced!

For specials, there is happy hour for drinks (currently Monday to Thursday). In addition, live music and entertainment is available on weekends! Please confirm directly with the restaurant for the entertainment schedule.

Danny Buoy’s Sports Bar

During our first visit to Grace Bay Beach, we wanted to watch the playoffs with fellow sports fans and decided to try Danny Buoy’s Sports Bar! The restaurant is within walking distance of many resorts, located on Grace Bay Road, good for casual dining in Turks and Caicos.

We enjoyed being able to watch both the basketball playoffs and hockey playoffs that spring evening! There were other tourists like us watching the TVs on the walls, visible from our outdoor seating.

Food was great and service was friendly at this sports bar. Do not hesitate to head out to Danny Buoy’s to catch the game!

Pelican Bay Restaurant at the Royal West Indies Resort

For a casual setting, Pelican Bay restaurant serves delicious lunch and dinner. We ate here several times during our second visit to Grace Bay. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating and an open-air bar for guests at the resort and to the public. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Pelican Bay Restaurant & Bar is located at the Royal West Indies Resort. It is approximately twenty minutes drive from the Providenciales International Airport. It is walking distance from five-star resorts such as The Ritz Carlton Turks & Caicos (approximately seventeen-minute walk) and Grace Bay Club (approximately ten-minute walk), on the same stretch of beach.

Lunch options we tried included burgers, tacos, and salad. We ordered take-out as well from Pelican Bay Restaurant for lunch including pizzas which could easily also be brought back to your suite if staying at the Royal West Indies resort.

We had several dinners at Pelican Bay Restaurant al fresco. Our dinners at the resort did not disappoint and had live musical entertainment on a couple of days as well!

Dining tips at Pelican Bay Restaurant:

  • Reservations: book dinner reservations. The restaurant always asked if we had reservations even if not at full capacity. We booked reservations on OpenTable for dinner even-though we were guests at the resort. OpenTable is free to join and offers points that can be collected for a “Dining Reward”.
  • Food: recommended dinners (subject to change and availability) include the oxtail, jerk chicken, BBQ ribs, and the daily catch (fish).
  • Happy Hour: The bar is a popular spot for tourists and locals. Daily, “happy hour” is available from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for discounted drinks: 50% off on alcoholic beverages & house wines (subject to change)!
  • Restaurant Events: be sure to check their website for events such as their Wednesday “Lobster Extravaganza” (All You Can Eat Lobster), and Caribbean BBQ Cookout, depending on the season and theme night. These events are subject to change and availability.

Grace’s Cottage – Elegant “Fine Casual Dining”

For a beautiful and romantic dinner, we suggest dining at Grace’s Cottage. We ate dinner here more than once since we stayed at Point Grace Resort on our first visit to Turks and Caicos. However, the well-known restaurant is open to the public, not only guests of the luxury boutique-style resort located next door.

We enjoyed the elegant outdoor ambiance and great food! On our first dinner experience, we dined under the stars with a live musician playing keyboard under a gazebo.

The restaurant is only open for dinner and a lovely option for special occasion dining or a romantic dinner in Grace Bay.
