On our second visit to Turks and Caicos, since we brought our elderly parents, we decided to try the fast track expedited airport arrival service. Despite the additional cost, we did not want to have them stand and wait in the well-known long lines often cited at this small airport. We share our experience with the airport fast track pass service from our June 2022 vacation to Turks and Caicos.

Unfortunately, we all know that part of traveling through airports generally means long lines for immigration, customs, and security. However, this fantastic fast track, skip-the-lines service enables you to by-pass the typically long lines at Providenciales International Airport.

Such fast track services at airports are gaining in popularity and increasingly being offered in airports around the world. With the school year ending for students and summer travel beginning, we decided to try out the airport service! On our first vacation here, we experienced the long wait at the Providenciales Airport. Therefore, we decided it would be worth trying to skip the long lines and get to our hotel as soon as possible! And more time at the beach!

Airport Arrival & Fast Track Pass “Skip-the-Lines”

We booked the fast track pass service for our arrival on a Saturday in June which is typically one of the peak times for arrival from various airlines. Airport departure service is also available, but we did not book it.

When booking, specify the date and number of adult travelers and number of infants.

Our flight was delayed two hours, from an initial arrival time of 12:35 p.m. Unfortunately, all flights into Providenciales International Airport that day were impacted. Nonetheless, we emailed the airport service directly to advise them of the delay. Customer Service confirmed by email that they had made note of the change and would be ready for our arrival.

When you land at Providenciales International Airport, passengers disembark the plane and walk outside to the airport building terminal.

When we landed and entered the airport terminal, we easily saw the uniformed agents right away. They also held signs up for the service with your name.

The four of us met with the agent who greeted us and confirmed if we had all the required forms filled out and ready.

Together, we were then led to a designated lane, apparently typically used by and reserved for diplomats. There are generally one or two agents tending to passengers in this lane.

We walked by and skipped the lengthy line growing for the immigration check. We really did feel like VIPs!

Once through the check, our agent even helped us look for our luggage from the rows of standing luggage on the floor! It was extra busy due to the airport-wide issue and delay that day!

If we did not check any luggage, we would have finished at the airport in minutes given the fast track pass service. Definitely another reason to try to just use carry-on luggage when possible!

Lastly, we were escorted to a spot where our transportation provider for private transfer was picking us up. Otherwise, they can direct you to the taxis.

Additional Tips:

Arrival Date at Providenciales International Airport (PLS)

There are a couple of websites, such as skyscanner, that can give you an idea of the number of planes scheduled to arrive and depart from Providenciales International Airport. Although such websites will likely not have your future travel date, I found it a good way to gauge a typical Saturday before I decided to book the airport arrival service.

Ideally book the arrival date at Providenciales International Airport (PLS) on a weekday if possible for less crowds. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are busier at most airports.

Airport Transfer to and from Providenciales International Airport (PLS)

  • Private Airport Transfers:
    • for this recent trip, again, since we were travelling with elderly, we booked a private airport car transfer, by SUV, to our resort to avoid more waiting and lines for a taxi at the airport. There were no other people in our vehicle and agreed we made the right decision. We booked the transfer in advance before our trip.
    • since we were happy with our private airport arrival transfer we also booked the private airport departure transfer for our return while in Turks and Caicos. The company confirmed pick-up time the day before and service was prompt and efficient.
    • Ultimately, we recommend the SUV transfer if you want to ensure private transport for your group. If it was just myself and my husband, a taxi would have been fine. However, the SUV transfer is a lot more spacious and comfortable of course!
  • Taxis:
    • if you do not mind the wait, taxis are readily available at the airport. On our first trip, we waited for a public taxi but just expect a long line of people on a Saturday.

Final Verdict on Fast Track Airport Arrival?

Our conclusion on whether the airport arrival service was worth it at Providenciales International Airport? Yes, it was absolutely worth the extra cost for the airport arrival fast track concierge service on this visit with our elderly family members, combined with the fact we landed on a Saturday afternoon!

It is worth noting that the wait and crowds at the airport depends on how many planes are arriving close together. Therefore, if you purchase the fast track pass, you may or may not encounter crowds! Despite the additional cost, we felt it was worth the peace of mind for this trip to expedite our arrival and we are happy we booked the airport arrival service!

Service was excellent throughout from our initial contact. If you are travelling with elderly adults like us on this trip, it helped provide a less stressful experience at a very busy airport!

Most importantly, it enabled us more time at our beachfront resort! Enjoy Turks and Caicos!
