The first NBA Courtside Restaurant in the world is now open and it is located in Toronto! The city and it’s NBA fans are excited!
We were able to visit the 10,000 square foot space yesterday, the day before the restaurant opened to the public. The Toronto Raptors played the Charlotte Hornets, winning 128 to 108!
First announced in February, I couldn’t wait to see what the NBA restaurant featured! The restaurant is located in the harbourfront area, close by Scotiabank Arena where the Toronto Raptors play, and nearby other Toronto sites. There are a couple of areas for dining with different decor, great food and drinks, and creative art!
The nicely decorated seating area at the front has a bar, some curved banquette seating, views of a fireplace and a couple of televisions.
The restaurant showcases interesting NBA decor that keeps you looking around to see the creative art and photography! Below is a large art piece on the wall made from NBA jerseys
As a Raptors game was on during our visit, we really enjoyed our seating in the bar area. It is a great spot to watch the game right at the bar or at the high-table seating. There were multiple televisions and a large screen to easily see the game from any seat.
The food menu was developed by Toronto-based chef Erica Karbelnik, who won Top Chef Canada (season 9) and Chopped Canada (Season 3), according to the official restaurant website.
We had the tasty Courtside Brisket Burger with fries and the Courtside Chicken Wings. The chicken wings are prepared with a choice of sauce and also served with ranch dip. I chose Hennessy bbq sauce for the wings – delicious!
For dessert, we ordered the flourless chocolate torte and americano coffee:
Also take a look at the table you get seated at when you visit! Our wood table in the bar area indicated it was made from an NBA All-Star court from 2011 where Kobe Bryant was the game MVP! Definitely a great way to reuse the wood from the courts.
Some other interesting decor included a wall display of sneakers, some with autographs, and a wall display of basketballs.
Another dining area, past the high top bar seating, featured interesting photographs of basketball courts on the wall.
If you are looking for some NBA souvenirs there is a small store selling hats and merchandise by the entrance.
The restaurant is now officially opened to the public and is taking reservations.
We look forward to returning and cheering on the Raptors here with other fans! The venue is an exciting addition to the area and the city, and a much needed great dine-in restaurant option to the Harbourfront!
Reservations can be booked on their website here. Walk-in dining is also available. Please contact the restaurant directly if you have questions and for reservations.
Location: 15 Queens Quay East, Toronto, Ontario, M5E 0C5.
